Quiche

Bacon, Asparagus, and Gruyere Quiche

Ingredients:

 

– 8 Slices of Apple wood smoked Bacon (regular smoke will work but Apple wood will    add a nice little touch)

– 6 Asparagus Spears

– 1 9 inches prepared Pie Crust

– 1 ¼ Cups Shredded Gruyere Cheese (a smoked Gruyere would add a little extra flavor)

– 5 Large Eggs

– ½ Cup Crème Fraiche

– ½ Cup Whole Milk

– ½ Cup Half and Half

 

 

Process:

 

  1. Cook bacon till crispy, then drain on a Paper towel.
  2. Boil Asparagus, about 3-4 mins (be sure not to overcook) then quickly run under cold water to stop the cooking process (and to retain that bright green color) and cut into ½ inch pieces.
  3. Pre-heat the oven to 375F
  4. Line a 9 inch pie pan with the prepared Pie Crust
  5. Spread the bacon (crumble), Asparagus, and Gruyere Cheese along bottom of Pie Crust
  6. In a large bowl combine Eggs, Whole Milk, Half and Half, and Crème Fraiche and mix
  7. Pour Egg Mixture into Pie Crust
  8. Bake for 30 mins, or until egg is done and top is Golden Brown and delicious!
