Bacon, Asparagus, and Gruyere Quiche
Ingredients:
– 8 Slices of Apple wood smoked Bacon (regular smoke will work but Apple wood will add a nice little touch)
– 6 Asparagus Spears
– 1 9 inches prepared Pie Crust
– 1 ¼ Cups Shredded Gruyere Cheese (a smoked Gruyere would add a little extra flavor)
– 5 Large Eggs
– ½ Cup Crème Fraiche
– ½ Cup Whole Milk
– ½ Cup Half and Half
Process:
- Cook bacon till crispy, then drain on a Paper towel.
- Boil Asparagus, about 3-4 mins (be sure not to overcook) then quickly run under cold water to stop the cooking process (and to retain that bright green color) and cut into ½ inch pieces.
- Pre-heat the oven to 375F
- Line a 9 inch pie pan with the prepared Pie Crust
- Spread the bacon (crumble), Asparagus, and Gruyere Cheese along bottom of Pie Crust
- In a large bowl combine Eggs, Whole Milk, Half and Half, and Crème Fraiche and mix
- Pour Egg Mixture into Pie Crust
- Bake for 30 mins, or until egg is done and top is Golden Brown and delicious!
